Welcome to Mikulov,
to a beautifully preserved town with a wealth of interesting places to see. Mikulov lies in a unique area of natural beauty, fairy tale chateaus, ancient castles, superb wines and hospitable natives. Not for nothing is it known as the ‘Pearl of Moravia’.
There are not many places in the world where you can encounter side by side a UNESCO listed nature reserve and World Heritage Site – the Lower Morava Biosphere Reserve and the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape.
Mikulov is the centre of the Mikulov Sub-Region of the Moravian Wine Region, and the largest of its kind in the Czech Republic. It’s well worth visiting some of the local wine cellars, wine bars and specialist wine shops. Your expedition in search of Mikulov wine might start, perhaps, with finding out more about the Stará Hora Cycling Circuit and Nature Trail. If you want to learn more about vineyards, discover something about the work they do, just let us know and we’ll be happy to arrange a visit.
Mikulov is also a cultural centre where there is always plenty going on. Concerts, exhibitions and festivals are organized every weekend.
